It was the first LucasArts game to be released for Microsoft Windows and the first to be distributed only on CD-ROM. It featured full-motion video and action sequences, using LucasArts' INSANE animation engine, which was previously utilized in Star Wars: Rebel Assault II: The Hidden Empire. A remastered version of the game was developed by Double Fine Productions and was released in April 2017 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita, with later ports for iOS and Xbox One.įull Throttle was LucasArts' eleventh adventure game overall and the tenth to use the company's in-house game engine, SCUMM. Set in the near future, the game's story follows Ben, the leader of a biker gang, who is framed for the murder of a beloved motorcycle manufacturing mogul and seeks to clear his and his gang's names. It was Schafer's first game as project lead and head writer and designer, after having worked on other LucasArts titles including The Secret of Monkey Island (1990), Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge (1991), and Day of the Tentacle (1993). The game was released on April 30, 1995, for MS-DOS, Microsoft Windows and Mac OS.

Especially the stunts are outstanding, as the series is produced by the 'Cobra 11' makers, another successful Autobahn action series running for many years now.Full Throttle is a graphic adventure video game developed by LucasArts and designed by Tim Schafer. The plots are mainly simple and the acting mostly wooden, but every episode is an hour of nice action entertainment. They all look cute, the dialogues are funny, and the action scenes with lots of car and helicopter chases, kick boxing and karate action and Mission-Impossible-like secret agent thrills are well-done.

It's clearly influenced by the American seventies cult series 'Charlie's Angels' and the current movie remakes, with a cute Blonde (Eva Habermann), an all-dominating and leading brunette (Susann Upplegger) and a witty and smaller Jacelyn-Smith-like black-haired girlie (Birgit Stauber). In spring 2003, the TV series 'Wilde Engel' (wild angels) started on RTL Television - a series about an all-female secret agent squad on difficult missions with lots of sex, crimes and action.
